July 18 – August 1
We invite you to join a unique djembe workshop led by Nikica Karas, a multimedia artist, travel writer, photographer, and long-time rhythm enthusiast.
Nikica has been playing the djembe for 22 years. A self-taught musician, he has performed with Pavijan Grivasti and Haba-Haba Duo. During his many travels through India, Morocco, Egypt, and Europe, he has explored different musical traditions and collaborated with artists from around the world. In addition to music, he is deeply involved in photography, has created numerous exhibitions and performances, and has organised many concerts, festivals, and cultural events.
In a relaxed atmosphere, the workshop will introduce you to basic playing techniques, African rhythms, and the power of making music together. No previous experience is required — complete beginners are welcome, as well as anyone who already has experience with percussion instruments.
The workshop is open to guests of Hotel Korinjak as well as outside visitors who would like to experience the rhythm, connection, and creative energy of the island of Iž.
Join us and feel how rhythm brings people together! 🥁
