Who is the FeldenkraIŽ long weekend for?
The workshop is designed for anyone wishing to treat themselves to an island long weekend at the end of summer—a time for regeneration, relief, and recharging one’s batteries for life on the mainland in the autumn.
* Empowerment and learning to use oneself better *
In good company and an atmosphere of kindness and humanity, we will immerse ourselves in the Feldenkrais method, the fragrant aromatic island flora, and the Dalmatian sea. Truly a generous combination for a life lived with dignity.
WHAT IS FELDENKRAIS?
The Feldenkrais Method is a form of experiential learning through gentle, directed movement (guided by a teacher’s verbal instructions in group *Awareness Through Movement*—ATM—lessons) and falls within the field known as somatics. This term encompasses various approaches that harness the power of awareness to improve physical and mental functions, aiming to create a life characterized by greater ease, quality, and conscious presence. These subtle movements engage us in a learning process—one in which our brains reorganize the way we move. Change occurs through becoming aware of how we move and curiously exploring new movement possibilities. As the body becomes more integrated, posture, balance, and coordination improve; movement becomes effortless, and any pain diminishes or disappears. Since the way we use our bodies profoundly influences our self-image, the effects of movement-based learning naturally extend to the psychological realm: increased creativity, relaxed serenity, joy, a zest for life, mental lightness, and emotional fluidity—these are common, beneficial, and welcome outcomes, often experienced after just a single ATM lesson.
